It is located on a Mont of sand and waves and comes into view as a rebellious structure on the top of the mountain disobeying the time and the elements of the nature and even the man.

The legend says that a long time ago, (year 708) the Bishop of Avranches, Aubert, saw the Archangel Michael in a dream asking him to construct a church on the top of the Mont. When the Bishop thought it was impossible, the Archangel made a hole in his cranium whit his finger. When Aubert got awake, he touched his head on the place where the Archangel touched him, immediately he felt the hole.

Almost immediately after, he started to build the church, and he finished it on the same year. It is built based on the medieval architecture, and today, it is considered as a place of world heritage according to the UNESCO.
