Saint-Louis is the fifth-largest commune in the French overseas department of Reunion. It is located on the southwest part of the island of Reunion, adjacent to Saint-Pierre. In the 1999 census, Saint-Louis had a population of 43,519. Its area is 103.50 square kilometers.
Reunion is an island and overseas department of France, located in the Indian Ocean east of Madagascar, about 200 kilometers southwest of Mauritius, the nearest island. Saint-Louis, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place.
