Located in the southern part of Grande-Terre, Sainte-Anne is one of the most touristic towns of Guadeloupe with Saint-Francois and Le Gosier. As per the last census in 1999, it indicated that there were 20,410 inhabitants living in Sainte-Anne, up from 16,933 in the year 1990. The community, which has an area of 80.27 square kilometers, turned distinctly towards tourism in the last 20 years, but still remains reliant on agriculture. Guadeloupe is an archipelago located in the eastern Caribbean Sea with a total area of 1,780 square kilometers. It is an overseas department of France.
