Romans-sur-Isere or Romans is a town in south-east of France in the Drome department. It is located on the Isere River and 18 kilometers north-east from Valence and the neighbor town Bourg-de-Peage there are more than 50000 inhabitants in the urban area. The total area of the city is 33.08 square kilometers and population in 1999 was 32,667. The famous historical sights in the city are International Museum of Shoe, factory shops, Tower of Jacquemart clock and Collegiate church of Saint Barnard.
 
The access to the town is easy with the highway between Valence and Grenoble, which can be taken for free between Valence and Romans, and furthermore with the high-speed train. Drome is a departement in southeastern France named after the Drome River. Drome was one of the original 83 departments created during the French Revolution on March 4, 1790.
 
Romans-sur-Isere is a city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. It is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
