Romainville

Romainville is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 7.2 kilometers from the center of Paris. On July 24, 1867, a part of the territory of Romainville was detached and merged with a part of the territory of Pantin and a part of the territory of Bagnolet to create the commune of Les Lilas. The total area of the city is 3.44 square kilometers and population in 1999 census was 23,779. Its density recorded in 1999 was 6,913 per square kilometers.
 
Seine-Saint-Denis is a French department located in the Ile-de-France region. In local slang, it is known as le neuf trios, after the official administrative number of the department, 93. Seine-Saint-Denis was largely part of the Seine department until 1964. It has a veritable history as a left-wing stronghold, belonging to the ceinture rouge of Paris.
