Mulhouse

France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometers, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. France is a member of The European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation. The sole official language of France is French. Since prehistoric times, France has been a crossroads of trade, migrations, and invasions.

Mulhouse is a town and commune in eastern France close to Swiss and German border. It is the largest town in Haut-Rhin, and the second largest in Alsace after Strasbourg. Its designated local development area consists of 16 communes, but its conurbation is substantially larger than that. The first written records of Mulhouse date from the 12th century. It was part of the southern Alsacian county of Sundgau in the Holy Roman Empire. From 1354 to 1515 Mulhouse was part of the Decapole, an association of ten free imperial cities in Alsace. In 1515 the city joined the Swiss Confederation as an associate and was therefore not annexed by France.

There are many famous places in the city that include Hotel de Ville, Musee National de Automobile de Mulhouse, French National Railway Museum and Botanical gardens and zoo. Mulhouse is served by Basel-Mulhouse-Freiburg International Airport. Mulhouse is a city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages.
