Montreuil

France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometers, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. France is a member of the European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation. The sole official language of France is French. Since prehistoric times, France has been a crossroads of trade, migrations, and invasions.

Montreuil is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located seven kilometers from the center of Paris. It is one of the most densely populated municipalities in Europe. The name Montreuil was recorded for the first time in a royal edition of 722 as Monasteriolum, meaning little monastery in Medieval Latin. The total area of city is 8.92 square kilometers and population in July 1, 2004 estimated was 101,400.

On January 1, 1860, the city of Paris was enlarged by annexing neighboring communes. On that occasion, the commune of Charonne was disbanded and divided between the city of Paris, Montreuil, and Bagnolet. Montreuil received a small part of the territory of Charonne. Montreuil is served by three stations on Paris Metro line as Robespierre, Croix de Chavaux, and Mairie de Montreuil.

It has a veritable history as a left-wing stronghold, belonging to the ceinture rouge of Paris. Montreuil is a city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages.
