Vincennes

France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometers, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. It is a member of the European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation.

Vincennes is one of most popular destinations in France, and is well known for the quantity of cultural related attractions and monuments. It is a commune in the eastern suburbs of Paris and is located only 6.7 kilometers away from the center of Paris. It is also one of the most densely populated municipalities in Europe.

In 1929, the commune of Vincennes lost about half of its territory when the city of Paris annexed the Bois de Vincennes, a greater part of which belonged to the commune of Vincennes. The city is well-known for its castle, the Chateau de Vincennes, and its park, the Bois de Vincennes though the latter is now within the limits of the City of Paris. It also features a large military fort, now housing various army services.

The industrial development in and around Vincennes has been a determining factor for its economic growth and population and although the industry is losing force in the last decades, the might of the sector services continues attracting new inhabitants in the city. Owing to this intense urbanization, Vincennes is served by two stations on Paris Metro line 1 with Berault and Chateau de Vincennes. Vincennes is also served by Vincennes station on Paris regional express railway line A.

Vincennes is a city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages. It is also one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
