Montigny-le-Bretonneux is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 24.5 kilometers from the center of Paris, in the new town of Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines, created in the 1960s, of which it is the central and most populated commune. Land area of  Montigny-le-Bretonneux is 11.65 square kilometers .Its population till July 1, 2004  estimate was 34,800 and March 8, 1999 census was 35,216. Density in 2004 was  2,987 per square kilometers. Montigny-le-Bretonneux is served by Saint-Quentin-en-Yvelines station on Paris RER, Reseau Express Regional line C, on the Transilien La Defense suburban rail line, and on the Transilien Paris Montparnasse suburban rail line.

Yvelines is a French department in the region of Ile-de-France. Yvelines was created from the western part of the no longer existing department of Seine-et-Oise on January 1, 1968 in accordance with a law passed on January 10, 1964 and a decret dapplication that is a decree specifying how a law should be enforced from February 26, 1965. Montigny-le-Bretonneux is one of the most visited countries. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times.
