Villejuif

France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometres, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. France is a member of The European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation. The sole official language of France is French. Since prehistoric times, France has been a crossroads of trade, migrations, and invasions.

Villejuif is a community in the southern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 7 kilometers from the center of Paris. The name Villejuif was recorded for the first time in a papal bull of 1119 as Villa Judea, the meaning of which is still debated. Some consider that the meaning was quite simply land of the Jews, estate of the Jews, perhaps in reference to some Roman ruins there which people in the Middle Ages deemed satanic and haunted by Saracens and Jews. Though, modern historians consider that the etymology of Villa Judea was more probably estate of Juvius or Juveus, a Gallo-Roman landowner.

In 1999, the population of the city was 50,000 and an area of 5.34 square kilometers. Villejuif is served by three stations on Paris Metro line 7 that are Villejuif–Leo Lagrange, Villejuif–Paul Vaillant-Couturier, and Villejuif–Louis Aragon. A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, cooperative people and luxurious hotels and cottages, Villejuif is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
