Millau is a town and commune of southern France. Millau is a sous-prefecture of the Aveyron departement, in the Midi-Pyrenees region. Its population is twenty one thousand three hundred and thirty nine with density of 126.8 per square kilometers. Its total surface land area is 168.23 kilometers.
 
The Millau viaduct, the tallest cable-stayed road bridge in the world, spans the valley of the River Tarn near Millau, relieving the town of much traffic especially during the summer months. Aveyron is a department in southern France named after the Aveyron River. Millau is also the main centre in France for paragliding.
