Sotteville-les-Rouen

France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometres, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. France is a member of The European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation. The sole official language of France is French. Since prehistoric times, France has been a crossroads of trade, migrations, and invasions.

Sotteville-les-Rouen is a commune in the departement of Seine-Maritime and the Haute-Normandie region of France. It is the largest suburb of the city of Rouen, and is adjacent to it on the south. In the 1999 census, Sotteville-les-Rouen had a population of 29,553. Seine-Maritime is a French departement in Normandy. Before 1955 it was known as Seine-Inferieure. The departement includes the chalky plateau of the Pays de Caux and the cliffs of the English Channel coast. There are two types of landscape namely the dry chalky plateaux which are under intense arable cultivation, and generally flat. The major example of this is the Pays de Bray, part of which is included in the eastern end of the department. The novel La Place by Annie Ernaux largely takes place in Seine-Maritime and describes events and changes that take place in relation to French society in the 20th century especially in relation to the rural population.

Sotteville-les-Rouen, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origin back to prehistoric times.
