Le Cannet

Le Cannet is a town and a commune of the Alpes-Maritimes a departement in the extreme southeast corner of France. Le Cannet was part of Cannes until 1778, when it was made a separate commune. Le Cannet is located on the north of Cannes, on the French Riviera. The two cities form a single urban area. Le Cannet was the birthplace of: Victorien Sardou, dramatist, Richard Galliano, accordionist. It was the home of: Margaret Caroline Anderson, editor of The Little Review. Le Cannet is situated at an altitude of 12 meters to 285 meters above sea level. It has a population of 43,200, as of 2005, within an area of 7.71 square kilometers and has a population density of 5,468 inhabitants per square kilometer.
