France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Issy-les-Moulineaux is one of most popular destinations in France, and is well known for the quantity of cultural related attractions and monuments. It is a commune in the southwestern suburbs of Paris and is located almost 6.6 kilometers from the centre of Paris. It is also one of the most densely populated municipalities in Europe. The city has a total land area of  4.25 square kilometers with a population of 61,800.
 
Originally, Issy-les-Moulineaux was known as Issy. The name Issy is derived from Medieval Latin Issiacum or Isciacum, perhaps meaning estate of Isicius, a Gallo-Roman landowner, although some think the name comes from a Celtic radical meaning under the wood.
 
Issy-les-Moulineaux has a successful industrial past and is now located at the heart of the business district of the Val de Seine that specializes in communication activities. Today, despite a population which is booming, Issy-les-Moulineaux harbors more employment than inhabitants. The city is served by two stations on Paris Metro line including Corentin Celton and Mairie d'Issy.  It is also served by two stations on Paris railway line, Issy-Val de Seine and Issy.

Issy-les-Moulineaux is also a place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. This is evident from the archaeological sites found throughout the city. Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and pursue enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace.
