Gennevilliers is a town in the northwestern suburbs of Paris in France. It is located 5.7 miles from the center of Paris. On April 9, 1929, one-fifth of the territory of Gennevilliers was detached and became the town of Villeneuve-la-Garenne. It is the site of the main river port of Paris on the Seine River. It is served by the Gabriel Peri station on Paris Metro line 13. This station is located at the border between the commune of Gennevilliers and the commune of Asnieres-sur-Seine. It is on the Asnieres side of the border and is also served by two stations on Paris railway lines, Les Gresillons and Gennevilliers.

Gennevilliers Department is Hauts-de-Seine, which is a department in France. It is part of the Ile-de-France region and is next to the City of Paris. It forms part of the western suburbs of Paris and is small and thickly populated. It contains the modern office, theatre, and shopping complex known as La Defense with its Grande Arche. The department of Hauts-de-Seine was formed in 1968 from parts of the former departments of Seine and Seine-et-Oise. In the 1990s and early 2000s, Hauts-de-Seine got national attention as a result of the corruption scandal related to the misuse of public funds provided for the department’s housing projects.

Today, one can also learn about its history, from its earliest times and gain enthusiasm in its natural beauty and populace. Gennevilliers enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers.
