Fontaine

France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometres, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. France is a member of The European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation. The sole official language of France is French. Since prehistoric times, France has been a crossroads of trade, migrations, and invasions.

Fontaine is a town in the department of Isere and the Rhone-Alpes region of France. It is the third biggest suburban area of the city of Grenoble, and adjoins to it on the west. In the 1999 census, it recorded a population of 23,323 inhabitants. Isere is a department in the east of France named after the Isere River. The commune, which is situated at the west of Grenoble, formed a part of the Community of Grenoble the Alps Metropole. Its inhabitants are called Fontainois and for a long time, a small village leaned with the last buttresses.

The confluence was located at the limits of the communes of Fountain, Sassenage and Grenoble. The village made its strides after the damming of this chief alpine torrent and the creation of a first bridge that connected it with Grenoble, its powerful neighbor. New constructions then made their appearance in the alluvial plain at the end of the century. Fontaine became industrial suburbs and saw its population growing quickly.

Fontaine can also be considered as the preeminent, historical and potential tourism destination that enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers to become one of the most visited places.
