Decines Charpieu is a commune in the departement of Rhone and the Rhone-Alpes region of France. It is a suburb of the city of Lyon, and is located east-northeast of it. It is a member of the metropolitan Urban Community of Lyon. In the 1999 census, Decines-Charpieu had a population of Twenty four Thousand one hundred and ninty three. Rhone is a French departement located in the central Eastern region of Rhone-Alpes. It is named after the Rhone River. The Rhone departement was created on August 12, 1793 when the former departement of Rhone-et-Loire was split into two departments.
Decines Charpieu, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. Castres, due its various places of interest is one of the most visited places.
