Croix

France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea, and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometres, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. France is a member of The European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation. The sole official language of France is French. Since prehistoric times, France has been a crossroads of trade, migrations, and invasions.

Croix is a commune in the departement of Nord and the Nord-Pas-de-Calais region of France. It is located in the metropolitan Urban Community of Lille Metropole and northeast of the city of Lille. In the 1999 census, Croix had a population of Twenty thousand six hundred and thirty eight. In population terms, it is France's largest. Nord comprises the French parts of the County of Flanders, excluding the western parts separated in 1237 as the County of Artois and now part of the neighbouring Pas-de-Calais, and Hainault. This territory was part of the Spanish Netherlands, but was ceded to France in successive treaties.

Croix, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place. It is also said the place of best geographical environment and can trace its origins back to prehistoric times. Due its various places of interest it is one of the most visited places.
