Coudekerque-Branche is a community in the departement of Nord and the Nord-Pas de Calais region of France. It is the biggest suburb of the city of Dunkerque, and is adjacent to it on the southeast. In the 1999 poll, Coudekerque-Branche had a population of 24,152 and an area of 9.14 square kilometers. The foundation of the municipality of Coudekerque-Branche was officialized by a royal decree on 14 December 1789. In 1790, the population of the municipality was 1,200. Coudekerque-Branche was divided into four sections limited by canals.

The industrialization of Coudekerque-Branche started in the 19th century in the western part of the city, because of the canals and the railway which made the city very close to the port of Dunkirk.
