Chelles




France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometers, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. France is a member of The European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation. The sole official language of France is French. Since prehistoric times, France has been a crossroads of trade, migrations, and invasions.

Chelles is a community in the eastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located 18.5 kilometers from the center of Paris. The community of Chelles is part of the sector of Porte de Paris which is one of the four sectors of the new town of Marne-la-Vallee. There are two main streets in Chelles that are Foch Avenue and De la Resistance Avenue. The community is served by Chelles Gournay station on Paris RER line E and on the Transilien Paris which is the East suburban rail line.

Land area of the community is 15.9 square kilometers, population as of July 1st, 2004 estimate and March 8th, 1999 census was 47,800 and 45,399 respectively and the density as of 2004 was 3,006 square kilometers.

A city known for its historic myths and traditions, scenic beauty, luxurious hotels and cottages, Chelles is one of the favorite holiday destinations for most of the vacation lovers.
