Charenton-le-Pont

France, officially the French Republic, is a country whose metropolitan territory is located in Western Europe and comprises various overseas islands and territories which are located in other regions. Metropolitan France extends from the Mediterranean Sea to the English Channel and the North Sea and from the Rhine to the Atlantic Ocean. At 674,843 square kilometers, France is the world's 40th-largest country after Myanmar. France is a member of The European Union and Paris is the capital of this nation. The sole official language of France is French. Since prehistoric times, France has been a crossroads of trade, migrations, and invasions.

Charenton-le-Pont is a commune in the southeastern suburbs of Paris, France. It is located at about 6.2 kilometers far away from the center of Paris. It is one of the most densely populated municipalities in Europe. In 1929, the commune of Charenton-le-Pont lost about a third of its territory when the city of Paris annexed the Bois de Vincennes, a small part of which belonged to Charenton-le-Pont. The population of the city is 26,582.

The insane asylum Charenton is located in the neighboring commune Charenton-Saint-Maurice, which changed its name in 1842 to Saint Maurice. Val-de-Marne is a French department, named after the Marne River, located in the Ile-de-France region, in Paris west. In local slang, it is known as l'neuf quatre that is the nine four, after the official administrative number of the department, 94. Charenton-le-Pont is served by two stations of Liberte and Charenton Ecoles on the Paris Metro line 8.

Presently, Charenton-le-Pont experiences a sharp social, economic and population growth derivative of the strategic position of the locality and the high level of well-being and quality of life that is enjoyed with respect to other places of France. Charenton-le-Pont, justifiably so, enjoys a very positive reputation with worldwide travelers, and is one of the most visited place.
